Hyundai Sonata

June 21st, 2010
Hyundai
cardekho asked:

Within a short period of time, Hyundai Sonata Transform has become a popular brand in India. Sonata has been recognised as the favourite car of upper and upper middle class in India. Hyundai Motor India Limited launched the fifth-generation Sonata Embera, setting new standards in technological excellence with a 2.4-litre petrol engine and a 2-litre diesel engine, improved styling, refined interiors and advanced safety features. The new car will take on competitors in the premium luxury D-Segment on Indian roads.

Dynamic suspension and an excellent rear-seat ride quality, one of Sonata’s key appealing features, continue to dominate the Sonata’s redesign. Hyundai Motor says that the Embera offers much higher fuel efficiency because of its light weight and aluminium engine block. With its contemporary international styling, refined driving dynamics and 170-mm ground clearance, it is time to take a second good look at the Sonata Embera.

In India the Sonata Embera comes in three variants — 2.4MT and 2.4AT in petrol and 2.0L CRDi MT in diesel. Under the hood, the Embera sports a high-power 2.4 litre, four-cylinder petrol engine, which forks out a powerful 163 bhp @ 5,800 rpm and a maximum torque of 23.6 kgm @ 4,250 rpm. Mated to a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed H-matic automatic, the new aluminium engine features Variable Timing Valve Train (VTVT). Hyundai boasts that the Embera delivers plenty of low-end torque, quick response, excellent pick-up and great performance

The four-speed H-matic transmission, when set on tiptronic mode, allows some manual input for maximum driving pleasure. Hyundai mentions that the light-weight aluminium engine block improves fuel efficiency levels, which even out at 6-7/9-10 kmpl (city/highway). The all-new 2L CRDi engine pumps out 140 bhp at 4,000 rpm and 33 kgm of torque between 2,000 to 2,680 rpm. The diesel variant gets a 6-speed manual transmission as standard.

The hood, featuring a prominent V-shaped ridge, meets the chrome-lipped signature grille. Wrap-around tail lamps (resembling those of the Honda Accord’s) and sporty twin exhaust notes bring up the rear, balancing the front visage and emphasising the car’s new international styling. Flared wheel arches feature 16-inch alloy wheels, and tubeless tyres give the Embera a sturdy, well-heeled profile. The new version is also a bit wider and taller than the Honda Accord.

The Embera’s profile is distinguished, classy and contemporary, with styling taking on soft, sensuous lines that hint at the car’s luxury and refinement. Wrap-around clear-lens headlamps enclose jeweled projector lights with silver bezels; the bumper incorporates trapezoidal fog lamps and chrome-embellished strips.

Launch of Hyundai i30 in India

May 16th, 2010
Hyundai
Rita Jain asked:

It looks like God is raining cars upon India. Indian car lovers are now seeing exciting times wherein some amazing cars have already entered the Indian roads and many more are lined-up.

Hyundai, the second largest passenger car manufacturer in India is doing good business and riding on the success of its Indian car launches. The next in line from the famous i-series cars from Hyundai Motors in India will be the premium hatchback Hyundai i30.

Hyundai plans to execute the launch of all its i-series (i10, i20, i30, i40) cars in India. i10 and i20 have already enjoyed huge success in India and the next in line Hyundai i30 has to match up to all those huge expectations when it gets a launch in India around the end of 2009. The i30 is sure to be a winner on the Indian roads as it boasts of many exciting features including seatbelt reminders and steering mounted audio controls.

One of the important elements that Hyundai missed on while launching the i10 and i20 was the overall design. The i10 and i20 are not that impressive with their exterior looks. Hyundai India, it seems have taken this important element into consideration and have now incorporated excellent styling into the Hyundai 30. By the first looks of the upcoming Hyundai i30 it seems that the European Design Team of Hyundai has spent a lot of time at the drawing board while conceptualising the i30 and I am sure this will surely reap in benefits when the car gets a final launch in India.

Reviews about Hyundai Verna

May 6th, 2010
Hyundai
Suresh Sharma asked:

Hyundai Verna was initially introduced in the market as Hyundai Accent. It was later upgraded and redesigned in the year 2003. It had more angular body and the dimensions of the car were increased.

Hyundai Verna has been inspired by the concept ‘large on inside, compact outside’. It has got very clean exteriors and well proportioned looks. The front end is well integrated with moderate flared wheel arches. This gives the car a sporty look.

The shoulder line and the stance display classic character. The fog lamps are very efficient and elegantly placed. The exterior mirrors can be operated electrically. The high mounted stop lamp is clearly visible through the rear screen.

It has gauge cluster boasts and green LED lit instruments. It has got sturdy door map pockets which can be used to keep maps, beverages, mobile phone and any other accessories required while traveling.

The clever storage tray provides can be used for keeping snacks and other useful utilities. The three way nozzle along with efficient wipers provides clear view to the driver. The adjustable power steering wheel minimizes the effort for the driver, making the drive very smooth. It also helps in getting good control over the vehicle.

Hyundai Verna has fully automatic temperature control System which makes the passengers feel very comfortable. The car also has special air bag and leather option. The cabin remains very calm and silent while driving. The potholes don’t make any difference while driving. Passengers and the driver feel minimal jerk. The drivers and passengers enjoy the drive.

Hyundai Verna has anti lock brakes to keep the car on-line. The adjustable seat belt mounting makes everyone feel very comfortable.

Hyundai Verna proves to be good value for money. The car ranges from more than Rupees six lakhs to ten lakhs depending upon the features.
