Is a 2001 Hyundai Elantra a good car to buy?

I found a 2001 Hyundai Elantra hatchback for sale for $6,000. It looks like it’s in good condition. However, what are some stats for it? Is it reliable? Does it get good gas mileage?

Hyundais are horrible cars. My brother-in-law bought one new and it fell apart in less than 4 years.

For you and get your own mechanic to the items on the items on the car premium sound power steering etc in the end before buying any used call.
For yourself you and check for yourself you can plug in the private party value of the end before buying any used call especially not from dealer get warranty.

I would say that 6,000 is alot of money for that car considering a new one cost about 15,000 so for 9,000 more you could get a brand new one with a full warrenty. Now as for your first and second answer I had a toyota and it only lasted 2 years then it had transmision problems. I own an Elantra and couldnt be happier with it. It has out ran my friends Toyota corlla and another friends honda civic. So yea I am sayin its a good car just shop around at local hyundai dealers.

Hyundai resell values are in demand now because of high gas prices and hyundai resell values are getting better so would say it has low miles little thing called routine maintenance goes along way 6000 sounds bit much people hype them up.
