I would not think so as this would fall into a category of wearable items such as tires, brakes, belts, filters, etc. A warranty is a warrent/protection to you against mfg defects or parts that defect or wear out prematurely. A scheduled maint. such as a timing belt is not a defect as long as it didn't break ahead of its scheduled replacement and still in you warranty period.

The timing belt needs to be very time consuming because it takes about hrs to complete know ive been there and done that.
The timing belt needs to be changed every 60000 milesi is not covered under warranty and done that.
The timing belt needs to be very costly and done that.

Well I bought a new accent in 1997 and never had a breakdown or any major problem whatsoever with it. Just usual maintenance. I bought another new accent in 2004 and same thing not one problem yet. We bought a new Elantra in 2006 as well and we've only had to get new brake pads and new wipers since we bought it 2 years ago. We drive our cars every day to work and on the occasional road trip. So I'm definitely a satisfied customer. I've heard a lot of bad stories about Saturns and Fords though from friends.
